Joanne Jones was just 16 when she was hired as a copywriter by Leo Burnett Advertising agency in Sydney. Her subsequent 35 years in advertising included a move to Hong Kong in the late 1970s. Joanne trained and worked as a counsellor in Sydney in the 1990s for several years, before writing her memoir When the Bough Breaks (Finch Publishing). Ms Jones is also a published poet with a particular love of haiku. Joanne Jones joined Elizabeth Lancaster to address The Sydney Institute on Tuesday 5 April 2011.
