Dr James Curran is a senior lecturer in the Department of History at the University of Sydney. His most recent book is Curtin’s Empire (Cambridge University Press, 2011). Dr Curran is also the co-author (with Stuart Ward) of The Unknown Nation: Australia After Empire and author of The Power of Speech: Australian Prime Ministers Defining the National Image.
