For writer and art historian Patricia Anderson, Robert Hughes before his US life and fame is almost another person. His years at Sydney University marked him out and Anderson captures a picture of not only of his burgeoning talent there but also university life in Sydney in the post war years, the birth and death of local newspapers and magazines and the budding Australian art world.Patricia Anderson, whose most recent book is Robert Hughes- The Australian Years (Pandora Press), addressed The Sydney Institute on Tuesday 27 April 2010.
