Anne Summers has been the Canberra Bureau Chief for the Australian Financial Review, Editor-in-Chief of Ms., a prominent American feminist magazine, and co-owned Ms. and Sassy magazines. She was head of the federal Office for the Status of Women during the Hawke government and was an advisor on women’s issues to Prime Minister Keating. Anne Summers has authored six books, amongst them the bestseller, Damned Whores and God’s Police. Currently, Anne Summers is a regular columnist for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Sunday Age. On Tuesday 21 July 2009, Anne Summers addressed The Sydney Institute on her new book, The Lost Mother.
