The Hon Wayne Swan is Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer. Elected to federal parliament in 1993, Wayne Swan has been both Campaign Director and State Secretary for the Queensland branch of the Australian Labor Party and, in Opposition, held the positions of Shadow Minister for Family and Community Services and Manager of Opposition Business in the House. Following the tight election result at the 2010 federal election, Wayne Swan addressed The Sydney Institute on Thursday 2 September 2010, reviewing the Labor government’s economic record as well as outlining its plans for future economic stability and prosperity in Australia.
